Doc Pomus, Songwriter

I just listened to a radio show on NPR about songwriter Doc Pomus, who wrote, among other things, "Save the Last Dance for Me." The song was made twice as interesting apon the revelation that he was crippled by polio at a young age. It was pretty interesting, and is apparently all in the book Lonely Avenue: The Unlikely Life and Times of Doc Pomus and you should probably check it out. Here's another song he penned.
